WHAT IS SOUS VIDE

Sous-vide is French for “under vacuum” and this term refers to the process of sealing food in an airtight, vacuum sealed pouch and then cooking the food in circulated water at a precisely monitored temperature. This style of cooking is also sometimes called “low and slow”. The food is cooked evenly so that the centre is cooked through properly and the outside has not been burned or overcooked.

Sous-vide cooking can take anywhere from 45 minutes to 3 days. The result is gourmet food that can be ready on a plate in minutes.

Our products are hygienically prepared and then sealed so they have no contact with the outside world – not during cooking, not during transportation and not even in your home until you’re ready to unseal and use the product.

INCREASED SHELF LIFE

Since vacuum sealed food has no risk of becoming contaminated during storage, it will remain safe for much longer. The vacuum sealing also preserves the taste and palatability of the foods.

REDUCE, REUSE AND RECYCLE

At Souvidelicious we take sustainability seriously and we want to make it as easy as possible for you to do the same. Food is only vacuum sealed in once during the entire production process to reduce plastic use, which also allows for the meat to cook in its natural juices. The paper packaging bags which can be recycled or reused for shopping and other needs.

OUR PROCESS

All our orders have a 2 day minimum lead time but we can do our very best on selected items to meet an earlier time.

STEP 1 – YOU ORDER

Order from our menu or get in touch with us directly if you want food for your business or an event. Browse the ever-expanding menu of options to see what we offer.

STEP 2 – WE PREPARE

Your order is prepared and pre-cooked. Follow our simple guidelines to heat and serve. That’s it! We deliver your food 95% finished. Our SFA licensed commercial kitchen adheres to the highest standards and follows a HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) food safety operation.

STEP 3 – WE DELIVER

Your order will be delivered in specially designed, insulated paper bags. The packaged food will be surrounded with reusable freezer packs to keep it cool and fresh, ready to cook right away or put in the fridge or freezer. Orders over $150 have free delivery. Food will keep for two weeks in the fridge and for a few months in the freezer.

STEP 4 – YOU FINISH

This is the best part of the process! All you need to do to get your gourmet meal ready is follow our simple finishing instructions for oven, pan or grill. Fire up and enjoy a delicious meal without the stress or the mess!
